Article III

THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Section 1. the Student Government shall be composed of the executive and legislative branches.

 

The Executive Branch
Student Executive Board
    Section 2. The Student Executive Board (SEB) shall serve as the highest executive office of the Student Government. Policies and decisions of the SEB shall be implemented by the entire Student Government. The SEB shall have power to:
        1.1 determine the legislative agenda consisting of specific bills, with the advice of the Council of Representatives (COR);
        1.2 veto any order, resolution, or vote, presented to it by the COR;
        1.3 determine if there has been a violation of any laws and, if so, impose necessary sanctions;
        1.4 appoint officers whose appointments are not otherwise provided for herein; and
        1.5 review COMELEC decisions regarding Class, Program and Year Council elections upon formal request by any student to that end.
 

Section 3. The SEB shall be composed of the President, Internal Vice President, External Vice President, Secretary, Finance Officer, and the Sports and Extra-Curricular Officer.
        1.1 The President shall:
            1.1.1 direct and oversee the activities of the SEB in pursuit of its vision and objectives;
            1.1.2 preside over all SEB and Council of Presidents meetings; and
            1.1.3 make a regular report of the SEB’s activities to the student body.

        1.2 The Internal Vice President shall:
            1.1.1 assist the President in his/her duties;
            1.1.2 assume the President’s functions and responsibilities in his/her absence or whenever necessary; and
            1.1.3 direct and oversee the Academic, Co-Curricular, and Student Services Committees.
                1.1.3.1 The Academic Committee shall heed the curricular concerns of the student body and work towards the excellence of the program                             curricula, course syllabi, and teaching and learning standards.
                1.1.3.2 The Co-Curricular Committee shall govern the College’s many and diverse co-curricular organizations (CCOs) guiding them towards the                             school vision. The committee shall require College of Arts and Sciences organizations to meet special responsibilities and at the same time                             provide them with special privileges as stipulated in Article V.
                1.1.3.3 The Student Services Committee shall promote a school environment conducive to learning and student participation.
            1.1.4 appoint the heads of these committees, subject to the approval of the SEB
         1.2 The External Vice President shall direct and oversee the external affairs of the SEB.
        1.3 The Secretary shall:
            1.3.1 gather and disseminate the essential information regarding SEB activities to members of the Board as well as the Year Council Presidents;
            1.3.2 serve as the liaison between the Office of Student Affairs and the SEB;
            1.3.3 inform the student body regularly of Board and other college activities;
            1.3.4 take down the minutes of SEB meetings; and
            1.3.5 safeguard all important and pertinent SEB documents.
        1.4 The Finance Officer shall:
            1.4.1 handle and safeguard the funds of the SEB;
            1.4.2 direct and oversee fund-raising activities.
        1.5 The Sports and Extra-Curricular Officer shall direct and oversee the school’s extra curricular activities and the Sports Committee. The Sports             Committee shall seek the development of sports in the College and shall coordinate and organize sports activities. The Committee shall govern all             athletic clubs and sanction sports activities of the College.

    Section 4. The SEB shall meet regularly to facilitate planning, decision-making, reporting, and evaluation of activities and developments.
    Section 5. The SEB shall decide in a collegial manner. Once a decision is reached, each officer shall fully support it.
