Article VI

The Student Executive Board (EMSEB)
    Section 1: The Student Executive Board of the EM Student Assembly shall be vested on the set of officers duly elected by the members of the Student Congress to the following positions:

a) President
b) Vice President for Internal Affairs
c) Vice President for External Affairs
d) Secretary
e) Finance Officer

The candidate who gets the highest number of votes from among all the candidates vying for the position is considered the duly elected officer for the said position.

 

    Section 2: The President shall:

a) direct and supervise the activities of the Congress in pursuit of the EMSA vision and objectives
b) preside over all meetings and dialogues of the Board
c) represent or delegate representatives of the Board and/or the EMSA to official functions of the School of Management and/or the University
d) prepare and present regular reports to the EMSA and the EM Program Faculty and Administration

 

    Section 3: The Vice President for Internal Affairs shall:

a) assist the President in his internal duties
b) assume the functions and responsibilities of the President in the latter’s absence or whenever deemed necessary
c) supervise the internal relations and activities of the Congress and Council in coordination with the President

 

    Section 4: The Vice President for External Affairs shall:

a) supervise and coordinate the external affairs of the Board and the EMSA
b) establish linkages with the Alumni and other sectors of society
c) perform other duties related to external affairs that may be delegated to him by the President

 

    Section 5: The Secretary shall:

a) record the minutes of the Board, Congress, Council, and the EMSA meetings
b) maintain and safeguard all Congress and EMSA records and documents
c) hold the election kit
d) regularly inform the EMSA, through the Congress, of all Program activities
e) keep the EM Program Directorate updated on all essential information regarding the Board and EMSA plans and activities

 

    Section 6: The Finance Officer shall:

a) act as the principal budgetary officer of the Board
b) keep custody of the Board funds
c) monitor the use of the Board funds
d) disburse the Board funds only with the approval of the Board

 

    Section 7: The Board shall meet at least once a month on a designated date to be determined by the EMSEB at the start of each semester, to ensure the efficient and effective planning, decision-making, reporting and evaluation of the EMSA projects, activities and developments.

 

    Section 8: The Board shall decide in a collegial manner. For grave or major issues, decisions shall be made by consensus. Otherwise, a majority vote may be employed for arriving at decisions. Once a decision is made, each member of the Board is required to give his full support to the decision.
